Recent Arrests

The following is a summary of recent arrests made by the Delaware State Police that have been released to the public.

On Sunday, January 28, 2018, at approximately 9:30 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash in the area of Summit Bridge Road (SR 71) and Levels Road, Middletown, DE. A 48-year-old male victim was operating a 2006 Toyota Highlander traveling northbound on SR 71 south of Levels Road. For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of his vehicle, exited the roadway to the right, and struck a utility pole. The victim was ejected from his vehicle and came to rest in a nearby field. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. SR 71 in both directions was closed for approximately four hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

On Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 8:12 p.m., troopers responded to I-95 northbound at I-295 northbound for reports of a disabled vehicle blocking two lanes of travel. As troopers approached the vehicle they observed flames coming from under the hood and quickly extinguished them with fire extinguishers.

The driver of the vehicle, 22-year-old Jordan Marvelle Jeffers of Newark, DE, was removed from harm’s way and transported to Christiana Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was treated and released before being transported to Troop 2 where she was charged with Driving Under Suspension and Possession of Marijuana (Second Offense). She was arraigned in Justice of Peace Court #2 before being committed to Delores J Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $4251 secured bail.

The Delaware State Police is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the individuals featured in our Top Ten Most Wanted List. These individuals are wanted for serious crimes including, but not limited to, homicide, rape, robbery, and burglary.
