Who is Heather Hays?
Heather Hays is an American journalist who worked for Fox 4 News for over 10 years. She was most recently the station’s morning traffic anchor.
Hays announced her departure from Fox 4 News on her personal blog on August 6, 2018. In her blog post, Hays thanked her colleagues and viewers for their support over the years.
“I am so grateful for the relationships I’ve built with all of you – both on and off the air. You have been like family to me,” Hays wrote. “Thank you for allowing me into your homes each morning and sharing your stories with me.”
Hays did not disclose her future plans in her blog post, but she expressed excitement for what lies ahead.

According to her bio on the Fox 4 website, Heather Hays is a native of Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Heather began her career in TV news at KMIZ TV in Columbia, MO where she was a reporter and weekend anchor. From there, she went on to work at WDAF TV in Kansas City as a reporter and weekend morning anchor. In 1996, Heather joined the Fox 4 News team.
Heather has been recognized for her work with several awards, including an Emmy Award for her live coverage of the Joplin Tornado in 2011 and a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for her reporting on the Joplin Tornado aftermath.
Heather is married and has two daughters.
